In 1888 Ford married Clara Jane Bryant and worked on the family farm as a young man.

Shortly after Ford moved to Detroit and worked on
his first vehicle, the quadricycle.

"It was considered to be something of a nusiance,
for it made a racket and it scared horses. Also it
blocked traffic." -Henry Ford(My Life and Work p.33)

Following the success of his first car, Ford tried his hand in the auto business but failed with his first venture. He eventually found moderate success in auto racing.

On 1903 Ford Motor Company was created with the 
help of the Dodge Brothers. The Model A was their 
mainstay car for the next 5 years until the Model T.
