Henry Ford II(grandson) succeeded Henry Ford as head of Ford Motors after senior Ford was mentally and physically unfit for the task.

Henry Ford dies April 7, 1947 at Fairlane Estates in Dearborn approximately 2 miles from his childhood home. He was 83 when he died from cerebral hemorrhage next to his wife, Clara.
