On 1915 just about a year after the start of WWI, Henry Ford embarked on a peace delegation to Europe in order to negotiate peace within Europe. This journey was know as the Peace Ship expedition which was privately funded by Ford. Even though this ultimately couldn't prevent the tragedy and Ford himself left after getting influenza. Though the world knew that at least someone was helping to prevent one of the greatest wars in human history.

Henry Ford's philanthropic efforts are documented even today in the Henry Ford hospital system. During his lifetime Ford is estimated to have given around 13-14 million dollars to the hospital system in creating an affordable healthcare system for the Detroit area.
